Screw 7570

The 7570 screw is the long fixing screw for sandwich panels on a steel substructure. As a self-tapping bi-metal screw with a support thread, it drills through steel from 1.5 to 5 mm without pre-drilling and is available in a range of lengths from 70 to 195 mm. This allows you to select the right screw for any panel thickness.

The 7570 screw is used wherever sandwich panels are to be fixed to a steel structure. Typical applications include:

• Fixing roof and wall panels to steel substructures
• Installation of sandwich panels of varying thicknesses
• Use on walls and roofs
• Outdoor applications and indoor areas with high humidity

The screw is designed as an A2 self-tapping bi-metal screw with a hexagonal head (SW 8), a support thread and a No. 3 drill point, with an A2 sealing washer and a thread diameter of 5.5 mm. It is available in lengths of 70, 85, 110, 125, 145, 175 and 195 mm and is approved for steel thicknesses of 1.5 to 5 mm. For roof applications, it is approved with or without a cap.

The 7570 screw is the right choice when fixing a sandwich panel to a steel substructure. If, on the other hand, the supporting structure is made of timber, the 7565 screw is the appropriate alternative. The length depends on the panel thickness: as a guide, the 70 mm screw covers panels from approximately 22 to 45 mm, the 85 mm screw from 32 to 60 mm, the 110 mm screw covers 52 to 85 mm, the 125 mm screw 57 to 100 mm, the 145 mm screw 62 to 120 mm, the 175 mm screw from 92 to 150 mm and the 195 mm screw from 112 to 170 mm. How does the 7570 screw differ from the 7565?

Both are long panel screws. The 7570 is self-tapping and designed for a steel substructure, whilst the 7565 screw is thread-forming and designed for timber. The choice depends on the material of the supporting structure.

What screw length do I need for my panel?

The length depends on the panel thickness. As a rough guide, the 70 mm screw covers panels from 22 to 45 mm, the 110 mm screw from 52 to 85 mm, and the 175 mm screw from 92 to 150 mm. We’d be happy to help you determine the correct length.

What steel thickness is the screw suitable for?

The 7570 screw is approved for steel thicknesses of 1.5 to 5 mm; its tested drilling capacity extends up to 6 mm. It therefore covers most common steel substructures.
